The National Curriculum - Key Stage 1 & 2

This document sets out the framework for the national curriculum at key stages 1 and 2 and includes:

  • contextual information about both the overall school curriculum and the statutory national curriculum, including the statutory basis of the latter
  • aims for the statutory national curriculum
  • statements on inclusion, and on the development of pupils’ competence in numeracy and mathematics, language and literacy across the school curriculum
  • programmes of study for key stages 1 and 2 for all the national curriculum subjects that are taught at these key stages.

The National Curriculum - Key Stage 3 & 4

This document sets out the framework for the national curriculum at key stages 3 and 4 and includes:

Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage

Setting the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five.

This framework is mandatory for all early years providers (from 1 September 2014): maintained schools; non-maintained schools; independent schools; all providers on the Early Years Register; and all providers registered with an early years childminder agency.

CACHE Level 2 Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools Qualifications Group

This qualification is an introduction to the information and knowledge needed to work in a school environment. It can apply to the many varied roles that full and part time support staff may fulfil including: administrative roles, site support roles, technical roles and volunteers, as well as roles that work directly with children and young people in the school environment.

It is aimed at learners not yet employed in a school, as well as providing initial training and


CACHE Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Qualifications Suite

This qualification will provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge needed when working directly with children and young people in school environments. It includes learning about children and young people’s development, safeguarding their welfare and communication and professional relationships.

The Award is suitable for learners not yet working in a Level 3 school role but could achieve at this level. It is also suitable as initial training.


CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools

This document is an extension of the Qualification Specification for the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualifications suite.

It contains the optional units available for the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF). There are no optional units for the CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF) or the CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF).
